rumor has it brassard is not happy with his role in pittburgh. but the pens are only paying $3M of brassards salary (as the knights are retaining some of his #). With Patches making $4.5M, the pens cant get that # to fit under their cap. This offseason has been excellent for the Canadiens so far, but it really is far from finished.

How? They drafted someone who may or may not pan out as a 1rst line center in several years and did little otherwise. Excellent implies something spectacular like had they somehow convinced Tavares to come. I dont see what they did that was excellent. As for far from finished, Bergevin's track record implies otherwise. I doubt Pacioretty is traded before the season.

Montreal are surely looking for younger assets for Pacioretty at this point. Brassard's numbers the last few seasons are on the decline. It's a hard pass for me.
